Attorney Katie Young spoke at the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin’s Gala of Gratitude. The event was held at SentryWorld on November 11. Attorney Young is the current President of the Foundation. The Foundation manages over 250 funds that benefit Portage and Waushara Counties. Through generous donors this event reached the goal of $50,000.

Four of our skilled attorneys presented on these topics: Protecting Your Assets from Probate and Guardianship, Protecting Your Assets from Liability, and Protecting Your Assets from Nursing Home and Long-Term Care Costs. Attorney Rich Fuller served as our master of ceremonies.

Attorney Formella Presented at the PCBC Business X-Change

Attorney Brian Formella presented on the most significant federal and state legal developments that affect most Wisconsin employers for the Portage County Business Council Business X-Change for October. He is a frequent presenter for the Business X-Change.

Some of the key points of his presentation included :

– The U.S. Supreme Court decisions relating to affirmative action; diversity, equity and inclusion; and religious freedom
– Recent rulings by the National Labor Relations Board that affect employer handbooks and severance agreements
– Update on employee free speech principles and offensive language in the workplace
– Update on “concerted activity” principles

Attorney Formella’s areas of practice include employment and labor law, municipal law, environmental law, real estate and general business law. Brian has a strong legal background in employment, labor and municipal law. He works with employers to establish sound employment practices. He has also aggressively defended employers against discrimination accusations.

AOB Receives The Providing Hope Award at The Walk For Hope

Anderson O’Brien, LLP (AOB) received the Providing Hope Award at The 2023 Walk For Hope. AOB was proud to be a Diamond Sponsor for the 16th annual Walk for Hope, a 5k Walk organized by the Prevent Suicide Coalition for Portage County. The walk organizers acknowledged AOB for being a consistent and generous sponsor, for recruiting several staff and attorneys to walk at the event, for hosting t-shirt pick-up year after year, and more.

The funds raised at this walk support initiatives in Portage County for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. The walk was held at Lake Pacawa on Saturday, September 9th.
