Rick Flugaur has an undergraduate degree in accounting and graduated with honors from UW-Stevens Point in 1984. He continued his studies at UW Law School and graduated with his law degree in 1987. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs.

Having grown up working in a family business, Rick enjoys helping families with their business and succession planning needs. His practice areas include estate planning, estate and trust settlements, business and personal real estate transactions, and general business law. He has helped clients address a wide range of issues including buying or selling a business, business formation, estate and business succession planning, and tax matters.

Amy A. Jahnke

Amy Jahnke joined our firm as an associate in 2014. Amy was raised in Antigo, Wisconsin, and is a 2006 graduate of Antigo High School. She attended Gustavus Adolphus College graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Latin American History and Phi Beta Kappa honors. In 2012, Amy graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School. After law school, she worked in New York City with the Honorable Gerald Lebovits in NYC Civil Court, volunteered providing pro bono representation in NYC Civil Court’s consumer-credit and housing parts, and practiced in business and commercial litigation. Amy discovered her enthusiasm for business and real estate law through writing complex judicial decisions on real estate matters and assisting in large-scale contract litigation.

Amy’s areas of practice include business law, real estate law, and estate planning. She is excited to be back in her home state and is committed to providing thoughtful, thorough and efficient legal representation.

Amy serves on the State Bar Professional Ethics Committee. This committee formulates and recommends standards and methods for the effective enforcement of high standards of ethics and conduct in the practice of law and issues formal opinions to guide the ethical conduct of Wisconsin lawyers. Her appointment to this committee commenced July 1, 2015 and continues through June 30, 2018.

David M. James

David M. James, a partner at Anderson O’Brien, focuses primarily on Estate Planning and Business Law. When working with clients on their estate planning needs, he works to protect the client’s assets with careful tax planning, while helping to ensure that their wishes are carried out. Business clients can count on Attorney James at all stages of their business ventures from formation, through operations, to sale or family succession.

Service to the community is an important part of the culture at Anderson, O’Brien, Bertz, Skrenes & Golla, LLP. Most recently David has worked with Justiceworks, Ltd., a non-profit organization dedicated to restorative justice in Portage County. He is also a veteran and served in Iraq during 2009 as a member of Wisconsin’s 32nd Brigade Combat Team.

David enjoys the challenges that a law practice brings and, in particular, he likes being able to help his clients work through the legal obstacles that life can present. Whether it is forming an LLC for an entrepreneur, or helping to preserve a grandparent’s legacy, David works with his clients to secure their future and peace of mind.

Torren Pies graduated with honors from UW Law School in 1985. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance and Management from UW-Madison, graduating with distinction in 1982. His practice is concentrated in estate planning, elder law issues, medical assistance counseling, general business law, and business sales and acquisitions.
As an attorney practicing business law, Torren finds working in Stevens Point particularly rewarding:

“The success of my clients and their businesses has a direct impact on this community, so as a member of the community, I am motivated in a very personal way to make sure these businesses are receiving and implementing the best legal advice. Keith J. Pilger

Attorney Pilger is a partner at the firm practicing in the areas of business, real estate and estate planning.

Keith assists many of the firm’s business clients addressing a wide range of issues including business formation, real estate transactions, tax issues, corporate and partnership law, buy-sell agreements, lease agreements, contracts, sale and purchase agreements, registration of trademarks and copyrights, and intellectual property license agreements. He is also well versed in drafting estate plans for families to help them avoid probate while still meeting their personal goals.

Keith is actively involved in the community. In 2012, Keith and his wife, Kristi, were the Campaign Chairs of the YMCA Annual Strong Kids Campaign.
