We would like to congratulate Attorney Rick Flugaur on being named one of the 2015 Quality of Life Leadership Award winners. The award was presented by Saint Michael’s Foundation at the 22nd Annual Community Leadership Celebration on April 25, 2015 at the Stevens Point Country Club. The award is given annually by Saint Michael’s Foundation in recognition of a leader who currently resides or has previously resided in Portage County and has made a significant contribution to enhancing the quality of life for citizens in the surrounding region.
Rick is currently a member of the Executive Committee, a Director, and Corporate Counsel of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Foundation, as well as a Board member and Chair of the Administration Committee of the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Pacelli Educational Foundation. His community involvement over the years has included Saint Michael’s Foundation, where he served on the Board of Directors and as President, United Way of Portage County Board of Directors and President, St. Stephen’s Parish Endowment Fund Board of Trustees, Stevens Point Area Catholic Schools Development and Advisory Council member, North Central Chapter of CPAs Board of Directors and President, and the Central Wisconsin Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors and Treasurer.
In addition to being an attorney, Rick is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs. His practice is concentrated in estate planning, estate settlements with and without probate, taxation, and general business law.
