It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mark O. Ilten, Emeritus.  We were fortunate to have Mark join Anderson O’Brien in 2012 after many years of a successful career with his own firm. While Mark had good intentions to wind down and transition his practice as he prepared for retirement, he continued to be incredibly active with his practice and with many legal and community organizations until his retirement in 2018.

Over the course of his legal career Mark served as President of the Portage County Bar Association, as a Portage County Condemnation Commissioner, as a fair hearing examiner for Portage County, and as a member of the District Seven Committee of the Office of Lawyer Regulation. He served on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation, Portage County Legal Aid, the Pineries Bank and Friends of Schmeeckle Reserve. Mark’s love of music was known to all through his many years of participation and service to the Stevens Point City Band, and through his many contributions to the music at his church, St. Paul Lutheran.

Mark was an exceptional attorney and faithfully served his clients and his community. He never hesitated to provide help, advice and mentorship to those he worked with, even long after his retirement. He will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Karen, and his children Jennifer, Nathan and Philip.
