Firm History
![]() Bryron B. Park 1886-1911 |
In 1886, Attorneys Byron B. Park and Gilbert L. Park founded our firm. They opened a then modern and well-equipped law office along Main Street, Stevens Point. The Portage County Gazette reported "a large and complete library of law books" which the Parks probably inherited from their father, the Honorable Gilbert L. Park, Judge of the Seventh Judicial circuit. Clients in those early years included Civil War veterans. Local news reports frequently mentioned how the firm helped them increase their benefits. Our attorneys also settled land disputes peaceably and assisted in family matters such as the transfer of farm land from one
generation to the next. |

Our traditions of offering clients the combined expertise of more than one skilled attorney soon led to another valuable tradition: diversification. |

To keep ahead of the great proliferation of laws and new technology since the 1930's and 1940's, our firm began adding attorneys with special expertise in matters that most affected businesses, individuals and their families. The partners building our firm realized that the world was changing rapidly and taking Central Wisconsin along with it. Our goals were not only to be successful locally but to serve clients well anywhere. We set new standards in client service through innovations such as technology, paralegals and office administration. Through managed growth and the desire for legal excellence, a solid foundation was laid for the full-service firm of today. |
