Attorney David M. James, an associate at Anderson, O’Brien, Bertz, Skrenes & Golla, focuses primarily on Estate Planning and Business Law. When working with clients on their estate planning needs, he works to protect the client’s assets with careful tax planning, while helping to ensure that their wishes are carried out. Business clients can count on Dave at all stages of their business ventures from formation, through operations to sale or family succession.
Dave is a proud Pointer alumni, graduating from UW-Stevens Point in 2001. He went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Law School with honors in 2005. During law school he excelled in his studies of taxation, which has served him well in both the estate planning and business arenas. During law school he also clerked in all three branches of the Portage County Circuit Courts.
Always looking for ways to help, Dave enlisted in the Wisconsin Army National Guard in April of 2003. He moved his way up through the ranks, most recently being promoted to Captain, and now serves as a Staff Judge Advocate. He enjoys serving his local community too, most recently through his work with Justiceworks, Ltd, a non-profit organization dedicated to restorative justice in Portage County.
Dave enjoys the challenges that a law practice brings and, in particular, he likes being able to help his clients work through the legal obstacles that life can present. Whether it is forming an LLC for an entrepreneur, or helping to preserve a grandparent’s legacy, Dave works with his clients to secure their future and peace of mind.
